Born Hull, 1886. Son of William Bowman Hedges (1842-1902) and Sarah Jane Wooler (1851-1923), of 11, Cooks Place Hodgson Street, Hull (1911 census) and 48, Strawberry Street, Hull (War Pension address). A general Labourer.

Enlisted at Alnwick, Northumberland. Formerly, Private, 4195, Northumberland Fusiliers. Transferred to the 2/6th Duke of Wellington’s (West Riding Regiment). Killed at Cambrai, on 27/11/1917, aged 31.

Commemorated on the Cambrai Memorial, France.
