HMT Senator, built by Cook, Welton & Gemmell, Ltd., Beverley in 1905 and operated at the time of her loss by Royal Navy, was a British navy minesweeper of 211 tons. Owned by Reunion Steam Fishing Co. Ltd., Grimsby, she was requisitioned (Admiralty no.295) in August 1915 as a minesweeper and equipped with one 3 pounder gun.
