Hillyard, Henry

Born Wragby, Yorkshire 22/04/1883. Son William and Sarah Elizabeth Hillyard, of 19 Ackworth Rd Purston

Married at Hull in 1912. Husband of Ethel May (1883-1961), of York and Northolme, Hessle, Hull (War Pension address). They at two sons, Gerald and Leslie. He was a coal miner working as a labourer in an Under Ground  Colliery

He enlisted at Newcastle. Formerly, Private, 5/41280, Northumberland Fusiliers. Transferred to the 10th East Yorkshire Regiment. Killed in action, on 12/04/1918, aged 35. Buried in France. His army effects were left to his widow, Ethel.
