SON OF AN ENGINE FITTER . HE WAS THE BROTHER OF MATT, ERNEST, NELLIE, LUCY AND BROTHER IN LAW, ARTHUR. HE WORKED FOR RECKITTS CANISTER FACTORY HULL.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 306995, SHERWOOD FORESTERS. TRANSFERRED TO TO THE 1/24TH ROYAL WEST SURREY REGIMENT. DIED IN HOSPITAL, OF SEPTIC PNEUMONIA, ON 27/10/1918, AGED 21. (HULL DAILY MAIL, 28/10/1918). BURIED AT HULL WESTERN CEMETERY.

HE MARRIED IN 1916, AGED 19. LEFT WIDOW, CHRISTIANN & CHILDREN, AT 4 BALMORAL AVENUE, LANSDOWNE STREET, HULL.
