Thank You to “Charlotte Penrose” for the following information, sent 23/01/2017, about her Great, Great, Grandfather – Thomas Henry Holness. “He was born in Halifax in 1892, however he moved to Hull for work it would seem. He always went by the name Harry Holness and was known as being a little handy with his fists along with his grandson and great grandson. He married Hilda Atkin in Aug 1915 whilst residing in Grimsby. They both had one daughter named Frances Ivy Holness born in Grimsby in 1917. Frances Ivy Holness (went by the name Ivy) and her mother moved to Hull shortly after her birth, however, it seems Thomas Henry died shortly after the move. Frances later married Arthur Penrose (b.1913) in Hull and they went on to have several children one of them being my grandfather Trevor Penrose (b.26/3/40).”
