He had two brothers and a sister. Worked as an Book keeper and Office Clerk. His army address was Carr Lane, Endyke Lane, Cottingham, East Yorkshire.
He enlisted at Beverley, on 20/07/1916. served in the 3rd EYR and as 330593, 510th Employment Company, Labour Corps. promoted to Corporal, on 25/07/1917. Discharged with Tuberculosis, from Military Hospital, Cottingham, on 01/06/1918. Died on 26 Dec 1921,
