BORN HULL 1875. SCULCOATES. SON OF WILLIAM HOTCHKIN (1850-1916) & JANE ANN IRELAND (1852-1912), OF 15, REED STREET, HULL (1911 CENSUS)

HUSBAND OF ADA WADE HOTCHKIN, OF, 17 OCKLEY TERRACE, WEST PARADE, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). THEY HAD FOUR CHILDREN, ETHEL, ALFRED, MAJORIE AND VALENTINE WILFRED HOTCHKIN. HE WORKED AS A BAKER.

HE JOINED THE LINCOLNSHIRE RIFLES ON 21/01/1895 AS A TERRITORIAL SOLDIER. SERVED IN CAPE TOWN DURING THE BOER WAR 1899-1902. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 6.5 INCHES TALL, 145 LBS WEIGHT, 39-41 INCH CHEST, GREY EYES, DARK BROWN HAIR, SCAR ON FOREHEAD, WESLEYAN RELIGION.
He enlisted in Hull. Formerly 6962, E. Yorks Regiment. Transferred. to (334137) 508th Labour Corps. Discharged on 20 Jan 1917. Died at Pocklington, on 10 Mar 1918, aged 43. Buried in Hull General Cemetery.
