BORN HULL 24/O7/1895. ENLISTED HULL. SON OF THOMAS WILLIAM & ANNIE HUDSON, THIS ADDRESS. EDUCATED NEWLAND AVENUE SCHOOL. APPRENTICE PATTERN MAKER. HE WAS A KEEN SPORTSMAN AND LIKE HIS BROTHER, THOMAS, WAS MEMBER OF HULL SWIMMING CLUB AND ST JUD’S FOOTBALL CLUB. HE JOINED THE 3RD NORTHUMBRIAN RAMC, IN 1912 AND WAS CALLED UP FOR MOBILIZATION IN AUGUST 1914. SENT TO FRANCE 26/08/1914. HE WAS ATTACHED TO NO:12 STATIONARY HOSPITAL, AT ROUEN FOR THREE YEARS AND THEN TRANSFERRED TO THE 65TH FIELD AMBULANCE. HE WAS CAPTURED AT AISNE ON 27/O5/1918 AND DIED A PRISONER OF WAR AT LANGEN SALTZA CAMP, IN GERMANY, FOLLOWING PNEUMONIA. HE WAS 23 YEARS OLD AND UNMARRIED. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE RETURNED TO HIS FATHER THOMAS WILLIAM HUDSON. HIS NAME IS LISTED ON WENLOCK BARRACKS ROH. HIS BROTHER, PTE, THOMAS ERNEST HUDSON 9TH WYR, WAS KILLED AT GALIPOLLI ON 9TH AUGUST 1915. THEY HAD ENLISTED TOGETHER.
