Hunt, Albert Edward

BORN HULL 14/10/1899. SON OF WILLIAM HENRY HUNT (1863-1938) & KATE LAMINGMAN (1871-1954), OF 8, BRYANTS ENTRY, HIGH STREET, HULL AND 142 HIGHT STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). SON OF A LIGHTERMAN. HE HAD SIX BROTHERS AND TWO SISTERS. ONE OF THREE SONS KILLED IN THE WAR.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. JOINED THE 1ST EAST RIDING YEOMANRY. DROWNED ON 10/10/1918, ON HMS “LEINSTER” IN THE IRISH SEA, FOUR DAYS BEFORE HIS NINETEENTH BIRTHDAY. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS FATHER WILLIAM HENRY HUNT.

HIS BROTHER, ARTHUR FREEMAN HUNT, 4682, EAST YORKS, DIED ON 15/09/1916.

HIS ELDER BROTHER, WILLIAM HENRY HUNT, 4414, EAST RIDING YEOMANRY, DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 23/07/1916.

THE THREE BROTHERS ARE COMMEMORATED ON ST MARY’S CHURCH, LOWGATE, WW1 MEMORIAL.
