BORN HULL 1890. SON OF JAMES HUNTER (1866-1931) & SELINA MARY KENNINGTON (1869-1936), OF 61 HAVELOCK STREET, HULL. SON OF A TRAWLERMAN. HE MARRIED AT HULL, IN 1911. HIS WIFE ETHEL HUNTER, LIVED AT 12 LOCKWOOD STREET, HULL. HE SERVED IN THE ROYAL NAVAL RESERVE AS SECOND ENGINEER, ON THE TRAWLER “CONDOR”. HE DROWNED, ON 29/05/1915, AGED 25.

HIS BROTHER, REUBEN EYRE HUNTER, ROYAL NAVAL RESERVE, WAS LOST ON THE DRIFTER, “PLANTIN”, ON 26/04/1917, AGED 24.

The trawler Condor struck a mine and sank in the North Sea 30 nautical miles (56 km) north east of Scarborough, Yorkshire with the loss of all nine of her crew.
