Hutty, John William

Born Hull, 03/01/1891. Only son of Arthur and Eliza B. Hutty, of 43 Summergangs Road, Holderness Road,  Hull (1916 Address).

Worked as a  baker (1911 Census) and  as a “beastman” with animals, when he joined up. A single man boarding at various addresses.

He enlisted in the 4th East Yorkshire Regiment, on 04/03/1916. Transferred to (500832) 482nd Agricultural Coy. Labour Corps. Discharged with scarlet fever which he contracted 20 years previously and also partial deafness, on 06/10/1916. He had served in the army, for 217 days. Did not serve abroad.

Died of Pneumonia, at Beverley Military Hospital, on 18/02/1919, aged 28.  He is buried at St Johns Cemetery, Beverley.

He married Harriet A, Cross, at Beverley, in April 1918. His army effects were left to his widow at Chalk Cottages, Queensgate Road, Beverley, (War Pension Address).
