Born Hull 1895. Son of Thomas Huzzard (1867-1940) & Mary Huzzard (1871-1953), of 6 Holmes Street, Hull. Nephew of Mrs Mackrill, of Spring Bank, Hull. He had three brothers. A former Joiner. He worked for the Hull Co-Operative society. He joined the East Riding Engineers on 16/01/1912, aged 17. Served as a Sapper in the 529th East Riding Engineers. Posted to France, on 17/09/1915. He was killed in action, on 18/06/1917, aged 22. Commemorated on the Arras Memorial, France. he had been in the army for 5 years and 154 days. Amongst his army effects returned to his mother, was a silver cigarette case, she had brought for him on his 21st Birthday.
His death was reported in the Hull Daily Mail on 05/07/1917. His name is recorded on the Clifton Street school Roll of Honour.
His brother, Eric and Cyril served in France.
