HE ENLISTED AT HULL CITY HALL, ON 06/02/1915. CALLED UP FOR SERVICE, ON 08/02/1917. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 6.5 INCHES TALL, 120 LBS WEIGHT, 36.5- 38.5 INCH CHEST, “GOOD” PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT. TRAINED AT WHITLEY BAY. POSTED TO THE 2ND WEST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, ON 30/03/1918. DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 22/04/1918, AGED 19. HE IS BURIED ON THE SOMME.
