BORN BARTON 1880. SECOND SON OF THE LATE JOHN JACKLIN (1851-1880) AND EMILY MARY WHORTER (1857-1919). HE HAD FOUR BROTHERS. EDUCATED AT HULL GRAMMAR SCHOOL. HE WORKED AS A LABOURER AND ELECTRICIAN.

HE ENLISTED AT HULL. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 18009, WEST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 19/03/1915. TRANSFERRED AS PRIVATE, 34382, YORK AND LANCASTER REGIMENT. HE DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 30/09/1916, AGED 36. BURIED ON THE SOMME, FRANCE.

THIS WAS HIS PROBATE ADDRESS. HE LEFT £126 TO HIS MOTHER EMILY, WHO HAD MARRIED GEORGE LUCAS SCOTT, AT HARROGATE, ON 27/05/1905.

HIS NAME WAS LISTED ON THE DANSOM LANE MEMORIAL, HULL AND RECORDED ON THE HULL GRAMMAR SCHOOL WW1 MEMORIAL.

HE IS BURIED AT DERNANCOURT COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION, AT THE SOMME.
