Born 28 Aug 1882 • Bedale, Yorkshire North Riding. Son of the late Charles Jackson (1854–1925) and Mary Elizabeth Jackson (1852-1890). A Corn Miller at Sleningford Mill, Bedale (1911 Census).
He enlisted in Hull. Served with the 1/4th East Yorkshire Regiment. Killed in action, on 31/10/1917, aged 35. Commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium.
His army effects were left to his sister, Bertha.
