A BANDAGE PACKER, FOR SMITH & NEPHEWS. HE MARRIED ON 08/04/1914, AT HULL’S HARLEY STREET, REGISTRY OFFICE. HIS WIFE MARGARET E. (BOAST), LIVED AT THIS ARMY RECORDS ADDRESS, WITH THEIR SON, JOHN HENRY (BORN 14/07/1916).
HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 08/12/1915, AGED 22 YEARS AND 69 DAYS. EX. PRIVATE, 26373, 14TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. DESCRIBED AS 45 FOOT, 6 INCHES TALL, 147 LBS WEIGHT, AND 38 INCH CHEST “CATEGORY A”. THEY INCLUDED A METAL CIGARETTE CASE, TOBACCO POUCH, SILVER CHAIN, RELIGIOUS BOOK, DISC, PIPE, LETTERS (ONE UNOPENED), CARDS AND PHOTOS. SHE REMARRIED. BECAME MRS ASBRIDGE, AND MOVED TO 105 EDINBURGH STREET, HULL.
HE IS BURIED AT ST. SEVER CEMETERY EXTENSION, ROUEN, FRANCE.
