HUSBAND OF THE LATE FRANCES (ADWICK). FATHER OF FOUR CHILDREN. THEY LIVED AT 3 WILLOW TERRACE, REGENT STREET, HULL. HIS BROTHERS ERE WALTER & JAMES E JACKSON.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED AS ACTING CORPORAL, WITH THE ROYAL ENGINEERS. DIED FROM THE EFFECTS OF HEAT, AT BASRA, IRAQ, ON 22/07/1917, AGED 43. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS SISTER, MRS ALICE OLIVER, OF 63 DURHAM STREET, AND GUARDIAN OF HIS FOUR CHILDREN..
HE IS BURIED AT BAGHDAD (NORTH GATE) WAR CEMETERY. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “ONE OF THE BEST”.

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 02/08/1917. *
