HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED WITH THE 9TH BATTALION, PRINCE OF WALES OWN (WEST YORKSHIRE) REGIMENT. LEFT ENGLAND ON 11/07/1914. KILLED IN ACTION AT GALLIPOLI, ON 09/08/1915, AGED 37.
COMMEMORATED ON THE HELLES MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING. HIS NAME WAS LISTED ON HULL’S LORNE STREET MEMORIAL – (PUBLISHED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL 01/12/1917).

HIS WAR PENSION WENT TO HIS WIDOW ALICE JACKSON AND TWO YOUNG SONS, GEORGE AND JAMES, AT 56 MARLBOROUGH TERRACE, ST PAUL STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). SHE MARRIED THOMAS McKEE, ON 01/06/1918.
