BORN HULL 1878. ONLY SON OF GEORGE (PUBLICAN) & EVELINA JACKSON. THEY LIVED WITH HIS SISTER MARIA, AT THE WHITE HART PUB, HULL. EMPLOYED AS A LABOURER. MARRIED IN 1906. HE ALSO LIVED AT 14 VICTOR STREET AND IN HUDDERSFIELD WITH HIS WIFE ALICE ANN LANE, WHO RETURNED TO 13 ROWLANDS TERRACE, ST PAUL STREET, HULL. THEY HAD THREE CHILDREN, TYSON, EVA AND MINNIE .JACKSON.

HE ENLISTED HALIFAX, 28/08/1915. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT 8 INCHES TALL, 126 LBS WEIGHT AND 34 INCH CHEST. POSTED TO FRANCE, 29/02/1916. KILLED IN ACTION, 07/07/1916, AGED 38. COMMEMORATED ON THE THIEPVAL MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING ON THE SOMME. HE HAD SERVED IN THE ARMY, FOR 316 DAYS.
