BORN TRONDHEIM, NORWAY 27/08/1892. SON OF MAGNUS ADOLF JACOBSON AND MARY ANN RIGGALL (1869-1903).

HE MARRIED CHARLOTTE FULLARD (1895-1962), AT SCULCOATES, HULL IN DECEMBER 1916. HIS WIFE CHARLOTTE AND SON JOSEPH (1918-2003), LIVED AT 5 ETHEL’S TERRACE, BUCKINGHAM STREET, HULL. HIS GRANDMOTHER MARY ANN RIGGALL, LIVED AT 10 RIPON STREET, HULL.

A NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY (NER) PORTER. HE ENLISTED IN HULL, JOINING THE NER PALS BATTALION, THE 17TH NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILERS, WHICH WAS FORMED AT KING GEORGE DOCK, HULL.. HE ARRIVED IN FRANCE ON 20/11/1915. PROMOTED TO LANCE CORPORAL. HE DIED ON 07/08/1918, AGED 26. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOW, CHARLOTTE. HIS BROTHER, MAGNUS JACOBSON (1890-1942), SERVED IN THE ROYAL FIELD ARTILLERY. HE ALSO LEFT SISTER, ANNIE (1894-1926)
HE IS BURIED AT AUBIGNY COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION, FRANCE. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN THAN TO LAY DOWN HIS LIFE FOR HIS FRIENDS”.
