Jennings, Albert Seaborne

BORN HULL 1890. SON OF WILLIAM JENNINGS (1847-1902) AND RHODA KEWELL. EMPLOYED IN A NEWS OFFICE, LIVING AT 55 GREAT UNION STREET, HULL (1911 CENSUS). HIS FATHER WAS FROM ROMFORD, ESSEX AND RAN THE OLD LINCOLNS HEAD TAVERN, HUMBER STREET, HULL. (1901 CENSUS).

HE MARRIED IN 1911. HUSBAND OF MRS ROSINA CLEMENCE WILSON (1890-1991) AT  15, SOMERSET STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION & CWGC ADDRESS). THEY HAD ONE DAUGHTER, EDNA (1912-2006).

HE ENLISTED IN HULL AND  SERVED WITH THE 7TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 10/02/1917, AGED 26. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOW, ROSINA.

HE IS BURIED AT GROVE TOWN CEMETERY, MEAULTE, SOMME, FRANCE. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “HE LIVES WITH US IN MEMORY AND WILL FOR EVERMORE FROM BELOVED WIFE & DAUGHTER”.

HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE WW1 MEMORIAL, ST JOHN THE BAPTIST CHURCH, NEWINGTON, HULL.

HIS BROTHER OLIVER NELSON JENNINGS (1893-1956), SERVED IN THE ROYAL ARMY SERVICE CORPS, AND LIVED AT 5 FLORENCE AVENUE, COURTNEY STREET, HULL.
