HIS FATHER CHARLES, ENLISTED ON 08/09/1914, WHEN WAR BEGAN AND SERVED FOR OVER 5 YEARS IN THE ROYAL FIELD ARTILLERY.
NOTE: SURNAME IS SPELT JECKELLS IN ‘SOLDIERS DIED’ RECORDS, AND JOCKELLS IN CENSUS RECORDS.
HE IS BURIED AT ST. ANDRE COMMUNAL CEMETERY, NORD, FRANCE. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “EVER IN THOUGHT”.
