BORN HULL 18/12/1881. SON OF THOMAS JOHNSON (1844-1893) & EMMA FROST TROTTER (1842-1903).

HE MARRIED AT HULL, IN 1903. HIS WIFE, HANNAH CHALMERS JOHNSON (1875-1959) & THEIR SIX CHILDREN, LIVED AT 1, GEORGES TERRACE, CHILTERN STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION & CWGC ADDRESS). A SEAMAN. EMPLOYED AS A TALLYMAN ON SHIPS (1911 CENSUS).

HE ENLISTED IN THE 1/4TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, IN HULL. PROMOTED TO CORPORAL. WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 14/02/1916, AGED 33. HE LEFT A BROTHER, WILLIAM AND SISTER EMMA, AS WELL AS A WIDOW, HANNAH AND SIX CHILDREN.
HE IS BURIED AT THE YPRES RESERVOIR CEMETERY, WITH THE INSCRIPTION “WORTHY OF EVERLASTING REMEMBRANCE”

HIS NAME IS RECORDED ON THE WW1 MEMORIAL, ST JOHN THE BAPTIST CHURCH, NEWINGTON, HULL.
