BORN BARNSLEY 1895. EDUCATED AT ST PHILLIPS SUNDAY SCHOOL HULL. DRIVER JONES WAS A BUTCHER, BY TRADE BEING EMPLOYED BY THE RIVER PLATE MEAT COMPANY, AT THE CORNER OF PROSPECT STREET AND BEVERLEY ROAD, HULL. HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVING WITH THE ROYAL FIELD ARTILLERY, “C” BATTERY, 92ND BRIGADE. HE DIED AT ALDERSHOT HOSPITAL OF APPENDIICITUS, AN INTERNAL RUPTURE, ON 30/04/1915, AGED 20. HE DIED IN TRAINING AT THE MIDLAND BARRACKS, DEEP CUT, HAMPSHIRE. HIS FUNERAL TOOK PLACE ON 03/05/1915 AND HE WAS BURIED AT ALDERSHOT MILITARY CEMETERY.

HE WAS AN ONLY SON OF HIS PARENTS AT 22 MYTOL STREET, HULL , HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 11/05/1915. *
