HE ENLISTED IN LONDON. HE SERVED AS A SHOEING SMITH IN THE ROYAL GARRISON ARTILLERY. HE DIED OF WOUNDS AT NO:9 HOSPITAL, ROUEN, ON 11/09/1918, AGED 26. HIS ARMY EFFECTS AND £319 WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER, REBECCA (WIFE OF WILLIAM HENRY JORDAN).
HE IS BURIED AT ST SEVER MILITARY CEMETERY, ROUEN, FRANCE. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “ONE OF THE BEST”.
HIS BROTHER, CHARLES WILLIAM JORDAN, DIED IN GRIMSBY, ON 14/08/1916, AGED 28.
