Born Goole, 1890. Son of John Alma Kay and Sarah Elizabeth Kay, of 18, Henry Street, Goole, Yorks. Second of five sons. A Bakehouse Assistant.
Enlisted in Hull. Served with the 4th Hull Pals, 13th East Yorkshire Regiment. Killed at Serre, on 13/11/1916, aged 26. Commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial.
His younger brother, Private, Clifford Kay, 53307, 2nd West Yorkshire Regiment, was also killed on 27th March 1918.
