BORN HULL 05/12/1890. SON OF VALENTINE KEARNS (1856-1938) & MARY JANE WILSON (1856-1931), LIVING AT 36 CAROLINE PLACE, CHARLES STREET, HULL (CWGC ADDRESS). SON OF A DISTILLER. HE HAD THREE SISTERS AND TWO BROTHERS. AN APPRENTICE BOOK BINDER.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED AS A GUNNER IN THE ROYAL FIELD ARTILLERY. CAPTURED 25TH MAY 1918. DIED AS PRISONER OF WAR AT HEILSBERG POW CAMP, IN POLAND. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 24TH FEBRUARY 1919, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *

HE IS BURIED AT LIDZBARK WARMINSKI WAR CEMETERY, POLAND.

HIS BROTHER FRANK, SERVED IN THE ROTAL FIELD ARTILLERY.
