BORN HULL 1887. SECOND SON OF HENRY JAMES (1859-1897) & MARY ELIZABETH KELSEY (1860-1941). HE HAD TWO BROTHERS AND FIVE SISTERS.
A FISH HOUSE LABOURER. HE MARRIED AT HULL, IN 1910. HUSBAND OF ANNA ELIZA EMERY (1888-1975) & TWO CHILDREN, THOMAS AND OLIVE, AT 4, EDGAR STREET, HULL (1911 CENSUS), 6, AIREDALE TERRACE, HESSLE ROAD, HULL AND 4, ELIZABETH PLACE, ENGLISH STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS).
HE ENLISTED AT HULL. SERVED WITH THE 4TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 22/04/1917, AGED 29. HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE ARRAS MEMORIAL. ALSO LISTED ON HULL’S WALKER STREET MEMORIAL.
HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 22/04/1918.
HIS ELDER BROTHER, GEORGE KELSEY, SERVED WITH THE EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT AND WAS WOUNDED.
