Kilkenny, James

Born Hull, 1888. Son of Edward Kilkenny (1863-1901) and Margaret Conlon. His step father was Joseph Yeaman, of 7 Cottingham Terr Charles Street, Hull (1911 census). He had three younger brothers, who all served in the war. He worked as a Dock Labourer.

Married on 23 Dec 1911. Husband of Mary at 2, Brown Terrace, Francis Street, Hull (war Pension address). They had three children, Edward, James Richard and Catherine.

Enlisted 10 May 1915. Served in the 1/4th East Yorkshire Regiment and 1/7th. 10th & 15th Durham Light Infantry. Posted to France between 27 Oct 1915 to 28 April 1916; 15 Aug 1917 to 26 March 1918. received gun shot wounds to the back in 1918. Discharged on 27 Feb 1919. Served in the army for 3 years and 294 days. Died in Hull, on 15/06/1923, aged 35.
