King, Harry

BORN SUNK ISLAND, HULL 1879. SON OF JOHN AND SARAH ANN KING, OF CHURCH FARM OTTRINGHAM. HE HAD THREE SISTERS ADA AND TWINS ROSIE & ANNIE KING. A BRICKLAYER BY TRADE.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 25005, EYR. TRANSFERRED TO TH 2ND KING’S OWN YORKSHIRE LIGHT INFANTRY. KILLED IN ACTION ON 12/02/1917, AGED 38. HIS BODY WAS NOT FOUND AND HE IS COMMEMORATED AT THIEPVAL MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.

HE LEFT WIDOW LILY & FIVE CHILDREN AT 8, POPLAR GROVE, NORTHUMBERLAND AVENUE, HULL, (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). SHE RECEIVED A WEEKLY WAR PENSION OF 33 SHILLINGS & THREE PENCE, ON 15TH OCTOBER 1917.
