BORN HULL 1892. SON OF THE LATE FREDERICK & HELENA MARIE KING, AT 55 PORTER STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION & ARMY ADDRESS). A PORK BUTCHER.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 09/02/1916, AGED 23 YEARS AND 3 MONTHS. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 6.5 INCHES TALL, 146 LBS WEIGHT, 36.5 INCH CHEST AND ‘GOOD’ PHYSIQUE. TRAINED AS A TRENCH BOMBER. SENT TO FRANCE ON 18/12/1916. POSTED TO THE 15TH DURHAM LIGHT INFANTRY. KILLED AT PASSCHENDAELE, ON 04/10/1917, AGED 25. HE HAD SERVED FOR 1 YEAR AND 333 DAYS. BURIED AT NEW IRISH FARM, BELGIUM.

HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER, HELENA. HE WAS A SINGLE MAN. HE HAD AN OLDER BROTHER, FREDERICK WILLIAM KING, ALSO LIVING AT 55 PORTER STREET.
