14/01/2025 – Thank You to Fred Kirman, who writes; – Hi Paul, My name is Fredrick George Kirman and my Grandfather Fred Kirman is listed on your Kingston upon Hull Memorial 1914 – 1918 list. It also states that he and his wife Alice Amelia had two sons Fred and George. However for your information, they also had a daughter Jessie E Kirman who was born in Hull in 1914, but unfortunately she died in Hull in 1915. Alice did remarry a few years later to Robert King and the family immigrated to New Zealand around 1922-23. Also, both sons kept their Kirman surname and enlisted in the NZ Army in WWII, and my father George Septimus Kirman (the youngest) was captured in Greece in 1941 and spent four years in POW camps in Austria. Hope this helps. Fredrick Kirman
