Captain, Kenneth Lambert (1887-1915)

BORN BEVERLEY 1887. SON OF FRANK FITZROY LAMBERT AND EMILY AUGUSTA HARRISON. HIS FATHER WAS A DIRECTOR OF THE NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY AND WAS A LEADING PLAYER IN HULL’S COMMERCIAL LIFE. KENNETH LAMBERT WAS EDUCATED AT RUGBY SCHOOL, WARWICKSHIRE. HE WAS A PROFESSIONAL SOLDIER. HE SERVED EIGHT YEARS WITH THE KOYLI, INCLUDING HONG KONG AND THE SINGAPORE REBELLION. HE DID FINE WORK AT HANKOW.

HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION, AT YPRES, ON 09/05/1915, AGED 28.

HIS BROTHER GUY AND PETER LAMBERT WERE BOTH OFFICERS IN THE EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. HIS BODY WAS NEVER FOUND. HIS DEATH AND PHOTOGRAPH WERE PRINTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON THE 14TH MAY 1915. *
