BORN KIRK ELLA, 30/07/1897. SON OF ALBERT JAMES LANG (1874-1943) & MARY ANNIE SPENDLOW (1877-1964), AT 5, &137,  WOLFRETON ROAD, ANLABY, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). SON OF A COAL DEPOT FOREMAN. HE WOORKED AS A COW LAD, ON WOLVRETON FARM. HE HAD ONE BROTHER, ALBERT AND FIVE SISTERS.

HE ENLISTED AT BEVERLEY. POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 15/12/1915. SERVED IN THE 6TH YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 22/08/1916, AGED 19.

HIS NAME IS LISTED ON THE ANLABY WW1 MEMORIAL, ST PETER’S CHURCHYARD, WILSON STREET, ANLABY.

HE WAS REPORTED MISSING IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 03/07/1919, WITH ANY INFORMATION DIRECTED TO NURSE LAND AT THE SCULCOATES INFIRMARY, BEVERLEY ROAD, HULL.
