BORN SELBY, 1895. SON OF ROBERT AND EMMA LANGTON, OF 48 UPPER UNION STREET, HULL. HE HAD TWO BROTHERS AND THREE SISTER.

HE MARRIED MARY ANN CARTER, AT HULL, IN 1908. THEY HAD FOUR CHILDREN AND LIVED AT 5 UNION PLACE, OSBOURNE STREET, HULL.

HE WAS EMPLOYED AS A COAL MRECHANT’S LABOURER.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED WITH THE 1ST EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. KILLED IN ACTION, AT THE SOMME, ON 25/09/1916, AGED 33.HE IS COMMEMORATED TO THE MISSING ON THE THIEPVAL MEMORIAL, FRANCE. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFTTO HIS WIDOW

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 30TH OCTOBER 1916, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH.*
