Born Hull, 1879. Son of Patrick Larvin (1844-1891)and Catherine Conway (1842-1906). He had five brothers and a sister.
He married on 13/09/1901. Husband of Caroline Harris, at 7, East Cheap, Spencer Street, Hull (War Pension Address). They had five children.
Worked as a labourer. He had previously served in the 3rd East Yorkshire Regiment. Described as 5 foot, 5.5 inches tall, 131 lbs weight, 33-34.5 inch chest, grey eyes, brown hair, Roman Catholic Religion.
Enlisted at Hull, on 21/08/1914. Served as Private, 3/6650, EYR. Posted to France, on 25/05/1916. Wounded twice, by gunshot to back and forearm, on 14/07/1916 & 25/09/1916. Invalided to England, on 28/09/1916. Discharged from the army on 31/01/1917. he had served in the army, for 2 years and 163 days. Died of wounds, on 09/11/1921, aged 42.
His brother, Private, Patrick Larvin, was a former Sisson’s, Drum & Keg Maker, living at 156 Fountain Road, Hull. He enlisted in the 1/4th EYR, transferred to the 5th Border Regiment and was captured on 21/03/1918. He remained a prisoner of war until 22/11/1918.
His brother, John Larvin (1874-1915), served as Private, 3/8873, 1st West Yorkshire Regiment, and died of wounds, on 11/01/1915, aged 40.
