Lawrence, Richard

Born Morecambe, Lancs, 1879. Married Bertha Greenhaigh, at Acrington, in 1900. Resided at Heysham, Lancs. He worked as a Dock Labourer and had been in Prison for being drunk (1911 Census).

His Next of kin were Joseph Cryer, of 1, Clegg Street, Burnley Lancs and Edith E. Dunn, of 20, Convent Lane, Hull (War Pension address). She became Guardian of his children. He had two children, Mary J. Ingham (born 09/06/1907) and James A Ingham (born 04/09/1912)

He enlisted at Preston, Lancs. Served in the 1st East Lancashire Regiment. Taken prisoner. Died of wounds, in Germany, on 01/06/1918, aged 39. His army effects were left to his widow, Bertha Keighley.
