BORN HULL 1878. WIFE MAUD ABOVE. MOTHER – FRANCES A LEGGOTT. SERVED WITH THE 2ND KING’S ROYAL RIFLE CORPS. HE DIED OF WOUNDS RECEIVED ON 27TH JANUARY 1915, AT THE BATTLE OF LA BASSEE. HE DIED IN BOULOGNE HOSPITAL ON 2ND FEBRUARY 1915, AGED 38.

HE WAS A RESERVIST AND HAD BEEN AT THE FRONT SINCE AUGUST 1914. HE LIVED AT 8 NORFOLK STREET. BEFORE BEING CALLED UP WORKED FOR THE HULL & BARNSLEY RAILWAY LINE.
HIS DEATH AND ADDRESS WERE REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 9TH FEBRUARY 1915. HIS PHOTOGRAPH WAS PRINTED IN THE HULL TIMES ON THE 13TH FEBRUARY 1915. *
