Born Hull 07/02/1890. Son of Charles William Lewis (1855-1941) and Rose Ann Hewson (1859-1933). He had three brothers and two sisters. Employed as a Fish Dock Cooper, with Mr George Needler. He married Florence Eliza Wainman (1890-1929), at Hull, in April 1910. They had three sons.
He enlisted in Hull. Served in the 12th EYR (Hull Pals), in Egypt and France. Killed in action, on 06/08/1916. His death is recorded in the Hull Daily Mail, on 15/08/1916. *
He left widow, Florence Eliza Wainman and three sons, lived at 53 Walcott Street, Hull. His Pension Ledger address, was 2 Fern Grove, Rugby Street, Hull. His wife remarried on 12/05/1917.
