BORN HULL 1883. SON OF GEORGE & JANE ANN LING, OF  18 , CHANTERLANDS AVENUE, HULL (1911 ADDRESS). A FOUNDRY WORKER.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. FORMERLY A PRIVATE WITH THE ARMY SERVICE CORPS. HE TRANSFERRED TO THE TYNSIDE SCOTTISH REGIMENT. HE DIED ON 05/06/1917, AGED 34. HIS DEATH REPORTED IN HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 06/06/1918.

HIS NAME IS LISTED WITH 46 EMPLOYEES, ON HULL’S IDEAL BOILER AND RADIATOR LIMITED, WW1 MEMORIAL, NATIONAL AVENUE, HULL.

HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS FATHER GEORGE, WHO DIED IN TESTES AND THEN WENT TO HIS TWO SISTERS, MRS LOUISA E. POCKLINGTON AND MRS MINNIE KIRK.
