Lloyd, Francis Burton

BORN HULL 1888. HUSBAND OF MARY STEELS LIVING AT, 31 ST PAUL’S STREET AND 14 BATES TERRACE, WEST PARADE, HULL. A FORMER NORTH EASTERN RAILWAYS WORKER AND SOLDIER. HE SERVED AS A BANDSMAN. AND WORKED FOR 6TH FIELD AMBULANCE, THE ROYAL ARMY MEDICAL CORPS. WOUNDED AT YPRES ON 02/11/1914. DIED IN MANCHESTER HOSPITAL OF A GUNSHOT WOUND TO THE LUNG. ALSO LOST A THUMB AND FORE FINGER ON THE LEFT HAND AND RECEIVED A BULLET THROUGH THE RIGHT ARM. HE DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 17/12/1914, AGED 27. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 21/12/1914. *

HIS NAME IS LISTED ON THE RAMC MEMORIAL AT HULL’S WENLOCK BARRACKS.  HIS DEATH AND PHOTOGRAPH IS AGAIN
Hull Daily Mail 26/12/14 shows a photo of Francis Lloyd and reports resided at 14 Bates Terrace, West Parade. He died in a Manchester hospital from a gunshot wound to the lung on 2nd November 1914. Also lost the thumb and fore finger on the left hand and received a bullet in the right arm in the Battle of Ypres.
