BORN HULL 1893. SON OF JOHN JAMES MANDERVILLE (1852-1920) & EMILY WILKINSON (1855-1926), OF 5 STANLEY STREET, HULL. SON OF A GROCER. HE HAD THREE BROTHERS AND TWO SISTERS. EMPLOYED AS A SHIPPING CLERK FOR THE HULL WILSON SHIPPING LINE.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED WITH THE 10TH ROYAL FUSILIERS. DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 30/01/1919. HE DIED AT ST JOHN’S VAD HOSPITAL, HULL, ON 30/01/1919, AGED 26. BURIED HULL WESTERN CEMETERY.

HIS NAME IS LISTED ON THE WILSON LINE CRICKET & ATHLETIC CLUB’S ROLL OF HONOUR.

HE MARRIED IN 1919. HIS WIFE EVERLYN (TAYLOR) LIVED AT 17 PEARSON STREET, PROSPECT STREET, HULL.  HE LEFT £140 TO EVERLYN, HIS RECENTLY MARRIED WIDOW. SHE MOVED TO 5 STANLEY STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS).

HIS OLDER BROTHER, PRIVATE, OSCAR MANDEVILLE, 27845, 1ST EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, WAS KILLED IN FRANCE ON 09/04/1917, AGED 38. (CWGC RECORDS).
