Marshall, Thomas

BORN HULL 1894. SON OF LILLY MARGARET MARSHALL, OF 8 ALBERT TERRACE, SPRING STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HE JOINED THE NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY SERVICE ON 01/09/1913 AS A CASUAL IN THE RENEWAL GANG FOR THE ENGINEERS DEPARTMENT. MADE A GANGMAN ON 30/01/1914.

HE SERVED WITH THE TERRITORIALS AND LEFT FOR FRANCE ON 20/04/1915, AS A DRIVER. AFTER A FEW DAYS AT THE FRONT HE WAS MADE A GUNNER. HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION A MONTH LATER, ON 24/05/1915, AGED 21. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 07/08/1915, ALONG WITH OTHER NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY MEN TO HAVE FALLEN. ALSO REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 21/06/1915.

HIS NAME IS RECORDED ON ST JOHNS CHURCH ROLL OF HONOUR, HULL.
