Hull’s Ideal Boilers & Radiators Ltd WW1 Memorial

Born Leytonstone, Essex, on 30/07/1897. Son of Henry Joseph maylin (1856-1932) and Emma Keen (1861-1951), of 72, Prospect Road., Snake’s Lane, Woodford Green, Essex. Educated at the County High School, Leytonstone. he was the fourth of five brothers.

He worked for the Hull Radiator Company and enlisted at the same time with his co worker, Reginald John O’Dell, 2235. Both Teenagers, served in the 1st/23rd London Regiment, and were killed in the same action, on 25/05/1915. They are commemorated together on the Le Touret, Memorial, France.

They are also commemorated together, with 46 employees, on Hull’s Ideal Boiler and Radiator Company ww1 Memorial, National Avenue, Hull.

His brother, Gunner, Joseph Albert Maylin served in the Royal Field Artillery. His brother, Alfred James Maylin, served with the Essex regiment and was wounded.
