McCall, George

A Railway Porter. He enlisted in Hull, joining the 17th Northumberland Fusiliers, know as the ‘Railway Pals’. As per CWGC records, he was the son of Isabella McCall, of 92, Clavering Place, Newcastle-on-Tyne; Native of Pittenweem, Fifeshire, Scotland. Killed in action on 9th May 1918, during the German Spring Offensive. His age was given as 34, but he may have been born in 1880 making him older.
