Born Hull, 1895. Son of Robert James McCune (1843-1924) and Ellen Warrington, of 74 Oxford Street, Hull (1901 Census). Son of a Labourer. He had three brothers and two sisters.
Enlisted Scarborough. Posted to France, on 16/01/1915. Served with the 1st Northumberland Fusiliers. Killed in action, on 16/04/1918, aged 23.
His army effects were left to his father, Robert James McCune.
His brother, George Robert McCune (1877-1928), served with the Northumberland Fusiliers and the Labour Corps. He lived at 61 Exchange Street, Hull with his wife Emma.
