BORN HULL 1889. ELDEST SON OF ANDREW & MARY ANN McDOUGALL AT 16, MONTROSE AVENUE, GIBSON STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION & CWGC ADDRESS). ONE OF EIGHT CHILDREN. SON OF A COAL PORTER. HE HAD A YOUNGER BROTHERS , ANDREW, AND EDGAR AND FIVE SISTERS.

ALSO EMPLOYED AS A COAL PORTER.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. FORMERLY PRIVATE, 22517, OF THE EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. HE TRANSFERRED AS PRIVATE, 33452, 2ND YORKSHIRE HUSSARS. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 02/04/1917, AGED 28. BURIED IN FRANCE. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS FATHER, ANDREW.

HIS BROTHER ANDREW, SERVED AS A PRIVATE WITH THE AST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT AND WAS DISABLED. HIS BROTHER EDGAR SERVED WTH THE NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS AND WAS ALSO WOUNDED IN THE WAR.
