McGuiness, Martin

Born Luddenden, Goole, 1858. Married Twice – to Bridgett and Hester McGuiness. He had four Daughters. Was a reservist in the 1st Dragoon Guards.  He had served at Wakefield Prison between 1886-1887 for assaulting a Constable and stealing a watch (Acquitted). Worked as a Dock Labourer and living at 1 Venton Place Collier Street, Hull (1911 Census).

He enlisted on 02/10/1914. Served as Private, 3/7498, East Yorkshire Regiment. Discharged from the army on 15/08/1916. Awarded the Silver War Badge (N0: 501582). Died of Bronchitis, on 27/03/1921.

He lived with his Daughter and Guardian, Margaret McGuiness, at 2, Freeman Buildings, North Street, Hull (War Pension Address).
