McGuirk, Hector

Born Pontefract, 25/07/1882. Born Michael Hector McGuirk. Son of Charles McGuirk and Elizabeth Cardis, of 23, Blackburn St., Blackburn (CWGC address), and 16, Folkestone Street, Hull (War Pension address).

Served as Colour Sergeant, King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry, attached to the West African Regiment,. Killed in action, in Jabassi, Cameroons, West Africa, on 08/10/1914, aged 33.

Buried at Douala, Wouri Division, Littoral, Cameroon, West Africa.

His war pension and army effects were shared with his mother , Eliza, sisters, Ann, Mabel and Madge, and brothers, Charles and John
