BORN BURTON CONSTABLE, YORKS 1889. SON OF ARTHUR AND ELIZA MCKEE, OF ERITH, KENT, 15 LEPANTO AVENUE, NORNABELL STREET, HULL (1911 CENSUS) AND 22, SOUTH STREET, PARAGON STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HIS FATHER WAS A DOCK LABOURER.

GEORGE ENLISTED IN HULL. A PROFESSIONAL SOLDIER. HE RESIDED IN ERITH, KENT. HE SERVED IN FRANCE AS A LANCE CORPORAL, 2ND BATTALION, COLDSTREAM GUARDS. HE WAS ACCIDENTALLY KILLED INSTRUCTING BOMB THROWING, ON 08/10/1915, AGED 25. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE RETURNED TO HIS FATHER IN HULL.
HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 18TH OCTOBER 1915 AND THE HULL TIMES, ON 23RD OCTOBER 1915, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *
